David Farr is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. State District Judge David Farr was elected to preside in the 312th Family District Court in November 2010. Voters returned him to the bench in 2014. Following an appointment by former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, he previously served as judge in the 312th from November 2007 until December 2008. Judge Farr has served in the Texas Army National Guard for almost 21 years. He holds the rank of Colonel and his current assignment is Staff Judge Advocate for the 36th Infantry Division. He and his wife, Betsy, have two daughters and a son.
