Denise Collins

District Judge, 208th Judicial District

Judge Denise Collins has served for more than 25 years on the bench in the 208th Criminal District Court. She first won election in 1992 and voters returned her to the bench six times. She is now one of the most senior district judges in the county. Judge Collins received a degree in Political Science at the University of North Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Houston. While teaching history to junior high students, she attended the University of Houston for a law degree, was licensed to practice law in May 1983. She ran her own private practice before taking the bench.
